Erika Cook
Social Studies
My Name is Erika Cook and I was born and raised in Fort McMurray. I attended Thickwood Heights School, Westwood Community School, and Fort McMurray Composite High School. I did my first year of my Bachelor of Education degree at Grant MacEwan in Edmonton, and then completed my degree through the University of Alberta at Keyano College. I love my home town and I reflect on a regular basis how much opportunity and life experiences Fort McMurray has given me.
I am married to a wonderful man and have a 6 year old daughter along with two rescue dogs, and two bunnies. My passions include theatre arts, photography, music, camping, canoeing, spending time in the Birchwood Trails, and at my cabin at Calling Lake with my family and friends.
As a social studies teacher, I love when students get passionate about a topic or a current event we have discussed in class and their learning and excitement extends beyond the classroom.
