Hello McTavish students and families!
My name is Mr. Clarke and I am a High School Social Studies Teacher here at École McTavish Public High School.
I have been proud to call Fort McMurray home for most of my life as I moved here from Kings Point, Newfoundland with my family when I was very young. While I did move to the Calgary area for university, I have been back in Fort McMurray for the last two years.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary where I pursued a Double-Major in History & Political Science. After this, I then went on to complete an After-Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alberta majoring in Social Studies and minoring in English. I was a Grade 9 student here at McTavish when the school first opened in 2011 so it is certainly a surreal experience to be back and I could not think of a better place to begin my teaching career.
