This will be my first year working in Fort McMurray and I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of the learning community at McTavish. I earned a degree in Kinesiology and Applied Health in 2008, followed by a degree in Education in 2011 where I specialized in Middle and Secondary Education. I began my teaching career working at a Canadian school in Cairo, Egypt, followed by two years teaching in Nova Scotia. I have spent my career teaching math and science and am excited to continue teaching both subjects at McTavish this year.
I grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba where I had the opportunity to play elite volleyball and softball which is something I still enjoy today. I am an outdoors enthusiast and enjoy all activities on land and on water regardless of the season. I love to travel and experience unique adventures. My favorite trip was the summer we spent in Costa Rica. The outdoor adventures were endless and we had the most amazing time hiking around volcanoes and ziplining by waterfalls.
My husband and I have two children who keep us very busy with dance and taekwondo. They also love to travel and can share many stories of the pyramids, camels and ice cream sandwiches.
