Mr. David Hurley
Hello and welcome, École McTavish students and families!
My name is Mr. Hurley, and I am pleased to be Vice Principal at École McTavish Public High School.
I was born and raised in Fort McMurray; however, I moved away for 6 years to complete my Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Alberta. Before moving back to Fort McMurray, I was fortunate enough to teach P.E. (K–12) on a First Nations Reserve—an incredible experience that I will never forget. I returned to Fort McMurray in 2014 and since then I have taught ECDP to Grade 11.
Over the past few years, I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership, and I am currently in my final year of my Doctor of Education program, which is focused on Educational Leadership in K–12 school systems.
I am excited to be entering my 6th year in Administration with FMPSD and to be returning to the the Marauder family for a 4th year!
If you have any concerns please don't hesitate to contact me either through email or phone (780-790-1100). I look forward to working with the students, staff, parents, and community members; I know this is going to be a great year!
