Librarian

Phone: 780-790-1100

Born and raised on a farm near a small Alberta town, I've called Fort McMurray my home since 2002. After obtaining my diploma in Early childhood Development from Grant MacEwan College I moved here to join my husband. During my many, many years with FMPSD, I have held many different EA positions supporting children with various needs. After being a stay at home mom for a few years, I returned to work and jumped into a new exciting challenge of the Library world...and junior high!! I began this position first as part-time, but then the last 2 years as a full-time Librarian. I am able to incorporate my love of reading (and organizing) to create a comfortable learning environment for students. And I am also always here to assist students and staff with any help/materials they may need to help them be successful.

Away from work I love spending time with husband, our son and our fur baby.

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
