JH/SH Mathématiques & Science

I am originally from the small coastal village of Baie Sainte-Anne, New Brunswick, and made Fort McMurray my home in July 2017. I initially graduated with a Diploma in Health Sciences and a General Bachelor of Sciences degree from Université Sainte-Anne (2008). I then continued my education and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry, and a Bachelor of Secondary Education (2012), from Université de Moncton. My teaching career started immediately after graduation. I taught in a French school division in New Brunswick for 5 years before my start at École McTavish. I am currently pursuing a Master of Education in Leadership, Evaluation, Curriculum, and Policy Studies at the University of Ottawa.

When I’m not teaching, I can be found playing or coaching volleyball, spending time outdoors, traveling, or reading a good book. I am married, have a young adventurous daughter, and the sweetest dog that we adopted from the local SPCA. I have also been a reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces for over 15 years and volunteer my time with the local Air Cadet Squadron, 868 YMM Rotary Northstar. My work with the Cadet Program has offered me numerous leadership opportunities and allowed me to mentor youth throughout Canada.

Teaching challenges me every day. I enjoy learning with my students and strive to develop their critical thinking skills. I wish to give them the skills they need to contribute to our ever-changing society. Being a French Immersion Teacher, I love to share my traditions and culture with the students.
