Hi! My name is Mrs. Andrea Organ, I excited to be back at Ecole McTavish this year, I've taught division two for 13 years before deciding to try something different, and totally fell in love with the McTavish culture last year. I figured it was time to put that Secondary Education Degree from Acadia University to work and move up to the jr/high school area. I'm loving the learning assistance position and getting to know all the different kids and parents here at McTavish.

Aside from spending time with your kids, I am a mom of two of my own. I spend my spare time dressing up and playing with jewelry and running from gym to gym for my boy's basketball games and practices or out at the ski hill with my little snowboarder and skiier. My boys are 10 (Owen) and 8 (Griffin) and like to keep me busy.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English and History from the University of New Brunswick and a Secondary Education Degree from Acadia University. I have lived in Alberta since 2004 and Fort McMurray since 2005. I love working with kids as they keep me on my toes and current with what's going on in the world.

If you have any questions or concerns please give me a shout at my email or 780-790-1100.

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
