Ms. Amy Lyn MacDonald
My name is Amy Lyn MacDonald and I am one of the Vice Principals at Ecole McTavish Public High School. .
I was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, where I grew up and began my career. I moved to Fort McMurray in summer of 2007, and have spent the majority of my teaching career as a High School English Teacher, later working in Special Education. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science through St Francis Xavier University, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland. In addition, I am a new Graduate of The University of Calgary where I obtained a Masters in Education in Interdisciplinary studies. I was fortunate enough to focus on two important streams in education: Educating Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and School Counselling Psychology. I am passionate about Inclusive Education, and eager to rejoin the safe, caring and supportive environment that Ecole McTavish has to offer all students.
In my spare time, my family and I love to travel. We spend our summers road tripping from the East Coast to the West where you can find us exploring each and every sandy beach with our 3 pups; Haven, North and Thora.
If you have any concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me either through email: amylyn.macdonald@fmpsd.ab.ca or phone: 780 790 1100. Looking forward to a great year!
