JH Cosmetology & Independent Learning

Hello, my name is Staci Bailey and I am a proud Fort McMurrayite! Born and raised here in the lovely city of Fort McMurray that I am happy to call home and now raising my family in. I am a product of the Fort McMurray Public School Division and cannot believe that now I am on the other side educating the students that come up through our amazing schools. I have worked here at McTavish for several years, filling in as a substitute or for maternity leaves for many of the staff members and as an Educational Assistant before I got my teaching degree. I also stayed in town to complete my degree with the collaborative Bachelor of Education program at Keyano through the University of Alberta. I’m ready and ecstatic to begin another year here and meet many new faces at the amazing school I call home!

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
