Hello Marauders!

My name is Lindsay Giraudier and I am looking forward to another great school year at Ecole Mctavish.

This is my 3rd year as a Vice Principal at EMT, after having taught at Westwood Community High School for 16 years. My husband and I moved to Fort McMurray in 2007 from small town Saskatchewan, and I love being a part of this community. I earned my Bachelor of Education in 2005 from the University of Saskatchewan and my Masters of Education from Memorial University in 2024.

My two kids, Lexi and Hudson, keep me busy running to watch them play volleyball, football and hockey. I also enjoy cross country skiing, camping, cooking and travelling.

I am a big believer in building relationships with students and families and am passionate about school culture and making school a safe and welcoming place. I’m looking forward to another great school year!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns. I can be reached by email at lindsay.giraudier@fmpsd.ab.ca or by phone (780) 790-1100.

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
