English & Social Studies

My name is Ms. Harding and I am very much looking forward to becoming part of the Marauder family this year.

I hail from the magnificent Miramichi, New Brinswick. I studied at the University of New Brunswick, earning my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, English and History. I went on to obtain my Bachelor of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown where I started my career teaching High School. I moved to Fort McMurray in 2011 and have since made this beautiful community home. I taught briefly at Westwood Community High School, then went on to teach at Ecole Dickinsfield for 12 years.

Outside of school, I am passionate about the outdoors and traveling. I love skiing, hiking, biking, and boating. I can also be found with a good book and will likely often be spotted at the movies carrying a large popcorn and a Fanta orange.

I believe that laughter, inclusion, and respect are essential in any classroom. I can’t wait to be reunited with familiar faces from the past, and meet new ones. Let’s make this school year a great one!

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
